About Boars Den Design

Largely self taught Ruth began her artistic career in the tattoo business in 2009. She describes it as "finally having the courage to follow my passion and pursue my dream job". However, life had other plans and in 2013 Ruth was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2016 a relapse that caused blindness and permanently damaged her vision ended her tattooing career. "Life gives you lemons, they're bitter little buggers but you still have to make lemonade. The trick for me is finding the sugar."

"In 2019 a friend asked me to paint a mural for a local community project. It was the first time I had picked up my brushes since my relapse. Completing the project was challenging but it gave me the confidence to push myself to create. Gradually I began taking on commissions and establishing myself as an Artist again".

Working in different Mediums on a variety of materials, including wood and slate, Ruth designs and creates custom artwork, personalised gifts, Tattoo designs and business Logos. Through collaboration with her client Ruth combines their idea with her unique interpretation to create a custom piece of Art.

"It is such a pleasure to create a piece of Art for someone. I feel very privileged to be invited to do so, to engage in a moment of their lives and design an image to capture it."
